Carriage House, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
Part of a larger development project located in Carroll Gardens, TADA met this carriage house as a deconstructed ruin, and managed to see the promise behind it. In its renovation, the TADA team created an interior that is open, warm, and modern. To maximize its potential, one floor was added, the cellar height was raised, and two outdoor terraces were created. A ribbon-like switchback staircase made of steel and wood seamlessly links all these elements together.
